G.A. Identity

G. A. is a soul and jazz singer from Italy. I was asked to design his business card.
Since she is an artist who works with sound, and his voice properties can be pictured in the water quality, my creative process was focused on the analogy between water waves and sound waves. The Propagation of sound waves in the air can be considered as a special case of fluid dynamics. Dispersion of water waves generally refers to frequency dispersion, which means that waves of different wavelengths travel at different phase speeds. I took a photography of a fountain showing the phenomenon of radial gravity waves, a visual code for these concepts: soul music, elegance, delicacy, feminine touch. Then I created a vector gradient map of the picture in adobe illustrator using the colors my client suggested: Barn Red and Emerald.
